The hole for the camera / flash does not directly obscure the camera. However when the case is flipped open and you are using the camera in portrait mode, the front of the case obscures the camera.
I only knocked 1 star off the rating as this this is fairly obvious for any flip case if you think about it (which I did not). A matching hole in the front of the case would prevent this I expect, although that would have negative impact on the look of the case when closed.
